Practical conservation session – Upton Towans

We’ll be continuing on from our work here last week – removing and cutting some invasive and non-native plants to stop them spreading and give the native dune plants a chance to regenerate in this area.

This session runs 10am – 2pm.

General information for practical conservation sessions:  We recommend wearing stout footwear and clothing suitable for working outside in the exposed environment of the Towans.  Do bring a spare layer, hat and full waterproofs and sun cream (if it’s going to be sunny). We supply biscuits, please bring your own hot/cold drinks and lunch.

Please book in advance so we can make sure we bring enough tools & biscuits and know to contact you if we need to cancel the session.

Date of Session: 20/01/2026

Meeting at: Upton Towans reserve entrance - near the big chimney
