We’re heading back to the hidden gem that is Gwithian Green. It has a great range of habitat types and we’ll be working on a mix of projects: clearing up brambles from the dune meadow to stop them outcompeting the less vigorous dune grassland plants; digging up tree suckers that are spreading out into the wetland area and clearing along another section of the stream to keep it flowing and provide some areas of open water.
Please note: this session runs 10am – 2pm.
Please wear wellies and thick trousers as it’s a bit wet and brambly in some of the areas where we’ll be working
General information for practical conservation sessions: We recommend wearing stout footwear and clothing suitable for working outside in the exposed environment of the Towans. Do bring a spare layer, hat and full waterproofs and sun cream (if it’s going to be sunny). We supply biscuits, please bring your own hot/cold drinks and lunch.
Please book in advance so we can make sure we bring enough tools & biscuits and know who to contact if we need to cancel the session.
