Gwithian Green is a hidden gem with a great range of habitat types. We’re continuing on with the work we started here last week; digging up willow saplings and cutting down willow bushes that are spreading out into the wetland area next to the Elm copse and clearing along sections of the stream to keep it flowing and provide some areas of open water.
Please note: this session runs 10am – 2pm.
General information for practical conservation sessions: We recommend wearing stout footwear and clothing suitable for working outside in the exposed environment of the Towans. Do bring a spare layer, hat and full waterproofs and sun cream (if it’s going to be sunny). We supply biscuits, please bring your own hot/cold drinks and lunch. Please wear wellies and thick trousers as it’s a bit wet and brambly in some of the areas where we’ll be working.
Please book in advance so we can make sure we bring enough tools & biscuits and know who to contact if we need to cancel the session.
