Practical Conservation Session – Mexico Towans

Working in partnership with the land agent at Mexico Towans, we’ll be carrying out some bracken management on the western side of Mexico Towans – pulling up and trampling the bracken to weaken the plants and stop them from spreading further into the important sand dune grassland.

This session runs 10am – 2pm.

General information for practical conservation sessions:  We recommend wearing stout footwear and clothing suitable for working outside in the exposed environment of the Towans.  Do bring a spare layer, hat and full waterproofs and sun cream (if it’s going to be sunny). We supply biscuits, please bring your own hot/cold drinks and lunch.

Please note there is no parking on Mexico Lane – one of our volunteers has kindly offered parking at their house – please let us know if you need parking when you book

Please book in advance so we can make sure we bring enough tools & biscuits and know to contact you if we need to cancel the session.

Date of Session: 02/06/2026
