We’re returning to Mexico Towans for a variety of tasks in the southern part of the site, not too far from Phillack Churchyard. If the weather is good enough we’ll burn the cotoneaster cuttings left from our session here in February. We’ll also either pull up some blackthorn suckers that are spreading into the dune grassland or pull up some of the cotoneaster runners around the area we’ve been working on. We may also remove another section of the broken fence.
This session runs 10am – 2pm.
General information for practical conservation sessions: We recommend wearing stout footwear and clothing suitable for working outside in the exposed environment of the Towans. Do bring a spare layer, hat and full waterproofs and sun cream (if it’s going to be sunny). We supply biscuits, please bring your own hot/cold drinks and lunch.
Please book in advance so we can make sure we bring enough tools & biscuits and know to contact you if we need to cancel the session.
