Practical conservation session – Godrevy Warren

Godrevy Warren isn’t open to the public so this session is a great opportunity to enjoy a slightly different view across the Towans whilst helping to look after the habitats and wildlife of the dunes. We’ll make a start on cutting another patch of gorse, elder and blackthorn, burning the cuttings on a bonfire (weather permitting!). As with other parts of the Towans, gorse and other woody plants are starting to dominate the dune grassland in the more sheltered areas of Godrevy Warren. Removing patches of scrub like this gives the surrounding dune grassland a chance to regenerate.

This session runs 10am – 2pm.

General information for practical conservation sessions:  We recommend wearing stout footwear and clothing suitable for working outside in the exposed environment of the Towans.  Do bring a spare layer, hat and full waterproofs and sun cream (if it’s going to be sunny). We supply biscuits, please bring your own hot/cold drinks and lunch.

Please book in advance so we can make sure we bring enough tools & biscuits and know to contact you if we need to cancel the session.

Date of Session: 17/02/2026
