Godrevy Warren isn’t open to the public so this is a great opportunity to help look after the habitats and wildlife of the dunes and enjoy a slightly different view across the Towans. We’ll be making a start on cutting down several patches of gorse and burning the cuttings on a bonfire. As with other parts of the Towans, gorse and other woody plants are starting to dominate the dune grassland in the more sheltered areas of Godrevy Warren – by removing some of the gorse it will give the surrounding dune grassland a chance to regenerate.
This session runs 10am – 2pm.
General information for practical conservation sessions: We recommend wearing stout footwear and clothing suitable for working outside in the exposed environment of the Towans. Do bring a spare layer, hat and full waterproofs and sun cream (if it’s going to be sunny). We supply biscuits, please bring your own hot/cold drinks and lunch.
Please book in advance so we can make sure we bring enough tools & biscuits and know to contact you if we need to cancel the session.
