Practical conservation session – St Gothian Sands

Continuing on from our October session here, we’ll continue with the gorse cutting and having a bonfire to burn the cuttings. Cutting down areas of scrub like this gives the surrounding dune grassland a chance to regenerate.

This session runs 10am – 2pm.

General information for practical conservation sessions:  We recommend wearing stout footwear and clothing suitable for working outside in the exposed environment of the Towans.  Do bring a spare layer, hat and full waterproofs and sun cream (if it’s going to be sunny). We supply biscuits, please bring your own hot/cold drinks and lunch.

Please book in advance so we can make sure we bring enough tools & biscuits and know to contact you if we need to cancel the session.

Date of Session: 18/11/2025

Meeting at: St Gothian Sands main entrance (parking in roadside lay-bys or Gwithian Green car parks)
