Carrying on from our session the week before, we’ll be cutting down some elm saplings to reveal the outside wall of the ‘Pound’ – a historical feature used in the past to contain stray grazing animals found in and around the village. We’ll also be clearing vegetation along a section of one of the streams to create some areas of open running water.
Please note: this session runs 10am – 2pm.
Please wear wellies and thick trousers as it’s a bit wet and brambly in some of the areas where we’ll be working
General information for practical conservation sessions: We recommend wearing stout footwear and clothing suitable for working outside in the exposed environment of the Towans. Do bring a spare layer, hat and full waterproofs and sun cream (if it’s going to be sunny). We supply biscuits, please bring your own hot/cold drinks and lunch.
Please book in advance so we can make sure we bring enough tools & biscuits and know who to contact if we need to cancel the session.
