About Towans Recording Group
We need your help to find out how healthy and biodiverse our dunes are and what pressures they are experiencing.
Who we are
We are a group of keen local naturalists who have set up a recording group, with the help of Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Dynamic Dunescapes project, to study, survey and monitor the plant and animal life of the Towans.
What we do
We need your help to find out how healthy and biodiverse our dunes are and what pressures they are experiencing. This can inform management decisions so that the conservation team can be directed to the most urgent sites.
We do this through quadrat surveys, single species surveys, habitat surveys and management surveys. We also practice on-site identification to improve our knowledge.
Who is it for?
No matter what your level of knowledge, beginner or expert, you will find full support whatever type of survey we are undertaking. Our regular identification walks will help you improve your ID skills or allow you to simply enjoy our wonderful dunes in the company of like-minded people.
